A welcoming path into reading
Phonics With Doodle is designed for children who are beginning to notice sounds and letters as well as emerging readers who are ready for more involved word patterns. Activities are selected around readiness so children can participate with confidence while still meeting a meaningful challenge.
What children explore
- Hearing, saying, and connecting sounds with letters
- Blending sounds to read words
- Digraphs, diphthongs, blends, and alternative sounds
- Spelling patterns, syllables, vocabulary, and comprehension
- Strategies for approaching unfamiliar words
A typical experience
Conversation, songs, games, stories, shared reading, and guided written practice make literacy active and memorable. Children have time to try, explain what they notice, revisit an idea, and build fluency through purposeful repetition.
Adapted to age and readiness
Younger learners may focus on listening, sound play, movement, and concrete letter experiences. Older or more experienced readers can work with increasingly complex patterns, spelling choices, connected text, and comprehension.
Current meeting times, format, and availability are shared directly with families.
